Welcome to episode 17 of the Branding With Jade podcast. This week we’ll be talking about why content is king and how to create a consistent stream of it.

So, if you follow me on Instagram you would’ve seen that I spent a few days out and about creating content.

Photos, vlogs, videos, stories…

And now I’m set for a few weeks at least (probably a couple of months really).

When it comes to content so many people struggle, but if you want to build a personal brand in 2020 you need to understand that content is everything.

Content is what keeps you visible.

Content is what connects you with your audience.

Content is what helps you to position yourself as the expert in your niche.

But how do you come up with so much content?

And how do you make sure it’s actually relevant to your audience?

That’s exactly what we’ll be digging into in today’s podcast episode.

Welcome to episode 17 of the Branding With Jade podcast. This week we’ll be talking about why content is king and how to create a consistent stream of it.

IN THIS EPISODE I’LL BE SHARING:

  • My experiences with losing content inspiration and how to get the inspo back
  • What types of content there are
  • My top tips for creating consistent streams of content

HERE’S WHERE YOU’LL FIND SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS:

>> [2:45] – what all the successful personal brands have in common.

>> [4:12] – my experience on the content struggle bus.

>> [7:32] – what I actually mean when I talk about content.

>> [8:11] – why content marketing is one of the most powerful ways to build a personal brand.

>> [10:38] – let’s get into the tips… firstly, learning how to batch create your content.

>> [13:57] – the importance of having a focus when it comes to what content you want to create. How does it apply to your brand message, vision, values and does it align?

>> [14:50] – think about whether or not your content is giving value to your audience. When you aim to give value it’s easy to create content that is right for your audience.

>> [15:22] – have a posting schedule to keep yourself in check and make it easy to create different types of content.

>> [16:40] – find the right platform that you will actually enjoy creating content for.

>> [21:30] – make a promise, when you let your audience know you’re going to show up with a particular kind of content on a set basis (e.g. weekly podcasts) it helps to hold you accountable and makes you want to show up, and you’ll be inspired because you’re not creating the content for yourself, but for others.

>> [26:15] – be yourself, I think the biggest thing that holds people back from creating content is that they’re overthinking and comparing. When building a personal brand you just have to show up as yourself and it becomes easy to create content.

>> [28:41] – go out and have fun and live your life. Don’t try to force content, get inspired by your experiences out in the real world.

>> [32:18] – get inspired from consuming content – books, podcasts, music, movies – you never know where you’ll draw inspiration from.

>> [34:24] – learn how to tell stories and position them in a way that includes your audience and gets them thinking about their own experiences and how they relate to what you’re sharing.

>> [35:07] – think of ways to collaborate and work with other people. For example interviews with other business owners, experts etc. so you’re providing more value to your audience but not having to come up with the content yourself.

>> [36:03] – my final tip is learning how to maximise one piece of content and making it go a lot further. For example turning my podcast episode into bite sized snippets for IG, sharing the show notes, sharing it to Pinterest etc.
