Ok so today I’d like to get a little more personal and share a bit more about my story.

This week I’m celebrating the launch of my new course, Boss Branding Academy. And I feel so excited and grateful for all the experiences in my life that have made this possible.

Now if you’ve been following me for a while or read any of my previous blog posts you might already have an idea of who I am. But for those who don’t.

Let me take a moment to backtrack and tell you who on earth I am lol.

And through sharing my story I’ll let you know how building a personal brand changed my life.

I’m Jade. You may know me as the Aussie Adventuress. Or maybe we’ve only crossed paths more recently since I’ve rebranded to my name. 

No matter how long you’ve known me, I want to make one thing clear. I’m just an average 30-something year old girl from one of the most isolated cities in the world, Perth Australia.

The only thing that makes me different, is that I was brave enough to chase my dreams. And that’s what I’m here to encourage you to do as well. 

I’m a certified personal stylist and personal branding expert. And I specialise in helping girl bosses to gain more confidence to show up as who they are and build highly profitable and successful businesses based around their personal brands.

I’d like to give you a bit of background into who I am so you can see why I’m qualified to help you. And in the process I’ll let you know…

How Building a Personal Brand Changed My Life

My journey to becoming a personal stylist and branding coach has been years in the making.

In my 20’s I had a permanent subscription to Vogue. And dreamt of working as the editor of such a prestigious magazine. Finishing uni with a Journalism degree I quickly realised it’s not that easy to get into a fashion magazine.

So not having a clue where to begin, and already having a pretty comfortable job with lots of perks, I gave up on my dream and climbed the corporate banking ladder instead.

Then in 2012. A couple of years after finishing uni, I decided to try find another angle to get into the fashion world. I enrolled in a course for “Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Stylist’s”.

I paid all my tuition fees, got my dad to print out all my workbooks, and that’s about as far as I got. This was a distance education course and I never really got into it. Sadly, at that point in my life learning online wasn’t really my style. I was used to the uni model and I needed that.

So again, I forgot about my dream and continued with my corporate ladder climb.

Until 9 years in banking finally wore me down. And I couldn’t silence that niggling feeling that there ‘had to be more’ any longer.

In 2015 I discovered the world of affiliate marketing and a journey of personal development and soul searching began. By 2016 I had quit my job and decided to give this online business a real shot. 

I started earning more money than I dreamed was possible. And established a really strong brand for myself under my alter ego Aussie Adventuress. 

This brand allowed me to travel around the world to loads of fancy events. Get asked to speak on stage at international events, and even get free sponsored travel deals.

But still I wasn’t fully satisfied. I didn’t feel like I was being true to myself.

Yes I loved to travel and this has always been a huge part of who I am. But it isn’t the only part of me.

Another huge part of me was fashion. And whilst I tried to pretend clothes didn’t matter to me, eventually I had to face the facts. Clothes are a huge part of how I express myself. And working from home day in and day out was not allowing me to show that love to the world.

In fact, I actually started to feel like I was losing part of my identity.

So I started working with a personal branding photographer. This is a lady I’d only met once when I hired her to do a branding shoot for my business. But we had this instant connection and it was just meant to be. 

And then one thing led to another. And I realised I had finally found a way to combine all my passions. I love teaching people about social media and content marketing, and how to build powerful personal brands.

I also want to ensure no-one else that works from home ever feels like they’ve lost their identity.

A huge and often overlooked element of personal branding is your style so by getting certified as a personal stylist, with a degree in Journalism, and multiple 6 figure affiliate marketing businesses under her belt, that sets me apart as a personal branding coach that can help you with every aspect of building a powerful personal brand.
