Ok, so if you know me by now you’ll know how obsessed I am with Canva. And today I want to share with you 11 reasons to upgrade to Canva Pro (formerly known as Canva for Work).
I discovered Canva about 3 years ago when I created my first ebook and I can say they have come a looooong way since then. And I’m super excited to share all the latest updates with you.
Let me just preface this with, no I am not a Canva affiliate (they don’t have affiliates), but I am a Canva Certified Creative meaning I get certain added benefits because I use the tool so much. If you do choose to upgrade, there are no direct benefits to me and it won’t cost you any extra. I am simply sharing a tool that I love and use daily.
Ok, let’s get into it…
11 Reasons to Upgrade to Canva Pro
1. Brand Kit Pro
This is one of my favourite elements and is such a huge time saver. With Canva Pro’s Brand Kit you can save all your main design elements.
Store your colour palette, add your main fonts, upload your own fonts, and save your logos. This way, whenever you’re creating a new design everything you need is easily accessible.
You can also now save your favourite designs as templates to keep coming back to. Which is a great way to keep creating graphics that are aligned to your personal branding.
2. Magic Resize Pro
This is an awesome tool for when you’re creating templates you want to use across multiple platforms.
For example, if you create a cover for IGTV but also want to create a similar image for your IG feed, or turn it into a YouTube thumbnail. You simply hit the resize button and it instantly copies all your work into a new template at the right size for your desired platform.
3. Photos Pro
If you’re someone who doesn’t have a lot of brand images and you’re constantly on the hunt for stock photos. Well Canva Pro has now got you covered there as well.
They recently acquired Pexels & Pixabay which now gives Canva users an additional 1 million free images to use in your designs. They also have thousands of higher quality images available to purchase within your designs.
4. Elements Pro
You can now add so many more elements to your designs. Such as frames, lines, icons, illustrations, charts and gradients.
5. Publish Pro
The designs are now published in much higher resolution no matter the size. You can also download images with a transparent background which is one of my favourites.
This is perfect for logos or images in frames that you want to use elsewhere, or in other designs.
6. Animations Pro
This one is sooo much fun. Perfect for Instagram stories, or even your feed posts to gain more attention. It’s also a great way to liven up presentations (like powerpoint days but better), or anything you want to animate really.
It’s a great way to stand out from the crowd and add an extra dimension to your personal brand.
They’ve even taken this one step further and now you can create your own GIF’s.
7. Templates Pro
The reason I love Canva so much is because you don’t have to be creative. Or have a designer’s bone in your body. They make it super simple to create amazing, on brand designs with their great templates.
And they just keep adding more and more better ones. There’s literally thousands of templates for every platform you can think of.
8. Text Pro
With text pro you get access to hundreds more fonts in the Canva suite. And you also have the ability to upload 100 of your own fonts.
While I do recommend sticking to a few key fonts so you start to create a specific brand style and people will recognise your content. It’s nice to know there’s so many fonts to choose from so you’ve got more chance of being different rather than ending up with the same stock standard fonts everyone else is using.
As you can see in the below video there is literally hundreds of new fonts to choose from.
9. Folders Pro
One thing that used to frustrate me with Canva is having to scroll and scroll through all my photos to try and find things I’d uploaded in the past. Or scroll through all my previous designs to find one I wanted to work one.
This issue is now a thing of the past with Canva’s new folders allowing you to organise your photos and designs much better. And saving so much time.
10. Uploads Pro
With Canva pro you have up to 100Gb storage so you’ll never run out of space for all your favourite images and templates.
11. Backgrounds Pro
Now you get access to over 1000 different backgrounds which are much more advanced than the selection we had before.
So many different options to choose from. From patterns and gradients, to textures and photos. There’s something that’s suited to everyone.
And there you have it, 11 reasons to upgrade to Canva Pro.
