One of my favourite things about living on the Sunshine Coast is all the cute, little historic towns to explore. And Eumundi has fast become one of my my most loved places to visit. So I thought I’d share 10 top things to do in Eumundi.
First things first, here’s a bit of history about Eumundi. The township of Eumundi came into being in 1891 and was mainly known for its timber industry. But now it’s a vibrant, rural community.
Since moving to this side of Oz, visiting the Original Eumundi Markets has been high on my list of things to do. When you scroll through the lists of what to do on the Sunshine Coast this place always pops up. So when mum said she was coming to visit me, I finally found my chance to have someone to come check them out with me.
And we were definitely not disappointed. It’s the biggest artisan market we’ve seen in Australia. There’s so many colourful stalls, great artists and of course delicious food. We loved them so much we went back the following week.
If you’re interested in checking these markets out they’re open every Wednesday and Saturday and you can get more information about them here:Â https://www.eumundimarkets.com.au
But as we discovered on both our visits, there’s so much more to Eumundi than these markets.
Here’s 10 top things to do in Eumundi:
1. Stop for a drink at the Imperial Hotel Eumundi
The first time we went to the markets we had Freddie with us, so to make it more exciting for him we stopped in the pub for a drink. This historic hotel is super quirky and colourful and turned out to be an Instagrammer’s dream.
2. Fill your tummy at one of the quirky cafes
We only walked down one main street after the markets and just on that street we saw so many cute cafes. So we ate at one and stopped for juice and coffee at some others so we could try them all.

3. Go shopping at the lovely boutiques
Of course we couldn’t help ourselves. When there’s shops we’ll always be there. And there’s plenty of sweet boutiques outside of the markets which are worth checking out.
4. Relax with a book at Berkelouw Books
If you’re a book lover like me, this book store is heaven! Seriously the best bookshop I’ve ever been in. It reminded me of the library from Beauty and the Beast which I would love to have in my house one day. The story of Berkelouw starts in Holland in 1812 and moved to Australia in 1948 after the war.
It’s the largest rare and antiquarian, secondhand, and new bookseller in Australia. And the best part, it has a cafe attached so if you want to sit and read for hours you can keep yourself energised with coffee. So good!

5. Take pictures with all the beautiful street art
Another one for the Instagram lovers – the streets of Eumundi are filled with beautiful art you can take photos with. These butterflies are a definite favourite for mum and I.

6. Buy some flowers from Signature B
Nestled at the back of a cute alleyway you’ll find this gorgeous florist. And it’s not just your typical flower bunches, there’s beautiful decorative pieces as well. Worth checking out for sure.

7. Get all your honey needs at Bees & Honey Eumundi
The lady in this store has been keeping bees for 14 years and some days she even brings one of the hives into the store for you to see. It’s so cool to watch the bees in action and learn more about the fascinating process that goes into making honey. Be sure to buy some of her delicious products before you leave.

8. Get some crystal treasures at Cinnabar Soul
These kinds of stores remind me of my childhood. I remember mum used to take us into shops and let us pick little crystals to take home. Back then it was just a pretty thing and I didn’t understand anything about crystals. But now, thanks to mum’s most recent visit, I’ve started to learn more about them.
And this store has sooo many beautiful pieces to discover. Definitely worth a visit.

9. Learn to cook at the Spice Garden
Ok, so I haven’t actually done this one yet but it’s super high on my list of things to do. Plus, now that mum has taught me a few signature dishes and I’ve been enjoying getting in the kitchen, it would be nice to learn some different skills. And after all the research I’ve done, this place always comes with high ratings so I’ll definitely be checking it out soon.
10. Start your art collection at Aavik Art
As we walked out of the markets we stumbled by this gorgeous art store. The artist has been painting since age 11 and she has some super quirky stuff, definitely worth checking out. Mum ended up buying 2 pieces 🙂
