DMO – What is it and why do you need it?

Let’s talk DMO, but first let me apologise. Sorry for my silence over the last few days – I was sunning myself on the beaches of Boracay Island (Philippines) and unfortunately the wifi didn’t want to be my friend there so I couldn’t post as much as I would’ve liked.

But I’m back now and raring for a massive 2016 and cannot wait to share everything with you.

I will be sharing my Boracay adventures with you very, very soon, but right now I want to get straight back to business.

So I’m starting with my DMO.

DMO = Daily Method of Operation. 

This is a DAILY to do list. A set of tasks you MUST complete DAILY in order to see results in your business.

Like any successful company, you need to have a clear plan and vision to build an effective online business. If you get in the habit of following a clear set of tasks you’ll progress so much further.

My DMO goes a little like this:

1)  Manage my Instagram accounts

This is my number one source of traffic and traffic converts to leads which eventually convert to sales. Your followers want to see you posting regularly. They’re interested in what you’re doing and this is why they’re following you. Show them you’re leading this awesome life you’re talking about. Not only does this give you credibility and really help to build your online presence, but it creates interest and gets people talking to you. This is what attraction marketing is all about.

2) Post on my Blog

All my social media pages link back to this blog, this is the central core of my business. The system I use provides done-for-you blog set up services so it’s worth looking into, otherwise it’s pretty easy to start one up yourself. When you’re directing people to this website you need to ensure you have valuable content there for them to read so they don’t feel like you’re wasting their time. The more you post the easier it gets and eventually it becomes second nature.

3) Post on my Facebook fan page & in my Facebook group

Again, my other pages link back to my Facebook page and group so if I’m not seen to be active people won’t be as inclined to trust me.  The Facebook page is another tool for gaining traffic so I use this for more fun and personal posts, whereas the Facebook group is somewhere people have requested to join after they’re already interested in what I’m doing so this is where I get more down to the nitty gritty of my business and share more insight with how others can apply the same methods to their own businesses. People that have joined your group aren’t just passers by, they’ve invested time in you so you need to use this space to invest time back in to them and give them the value they deserve.

4) Talk to my Prospects

I get a lot of messages on Facebook and Instagram from people who are interested in learning more about what I do. This is a very important part of my day because if I’m not responsive I could lose out on being able to help that person.

5) Email my List 

If there’s any important live webinars or prospecting calls I make sure I email all the info out to my list so I have potential clients show up, I also email updates on what’s going on in my life etc. to keep my list engaged and show them I’m a real person.

5) Work on my Self Development

No day is complete without a little work on yourself. Whether it be marketing training, inspirational videos, listening to podcasts or reading personal development books, I make sure I do something every day to further develop my skills and keep a positive mindset. The world is constantly changing so you need to stay innovative and open to new ideas and methods. The worst thing you can do for yourself is think you know everything. You need to keep up to date with what’s going on and constantly strive to be better. This is how people rise to the top.

It doesn’t seem like much, but doing a few simple things on a daily basis is super effective.

You should aim to have at least a MINIMUM of THREE income producing tasks in your DMO (the stuff that will make you the $$$) as well as a range of others but never ever skip the $$$ makers.

Once you have your original DMO down pat you’ll be able to start introducing other tasks in as the originals will become so second nature it doesn’t even seem like an effort. For instance, now that I’m used to completing those four tasks mentioned above, I’ve decided to up the anti. I’m working on my very own e-book and also some video training series so I can constantly deliver new things to my followers and keep them interested.
