Who’s ready to make their New Years Resolutions?

It’s almost that time of year again. Christmas is over and the new year is fast approaching so the next thing on everyone’s minds is their new years resolutions.

Being a culprit of making lists of resolutions I don’t keep, I thought it timely to do a post on actually making new years resolutions you can stick to.

A few years ago I was tired of making stupid resolutions that I had no intention of keeping. Instead, I made a decision to do something I’m truly passionate about, something I knew I had no chance of failing at.

I decided to visit a new place every year.

It could be exploring my own state, visiting other states in Australia, or visiting entirely new countries. That part didn’t matter, as long as I was experiencing new things and not allowing myself to get stuck in a boring routine.

Well this year I’ve truly outdone myself.

I started the year in Brazil and went on to spend a decent amount of time visiting other parts of South America.
I explored my own state’s north and south coast.
I did a yoga retreat in Bali.
Most recently I paid a brief visit to New Zealand.
And, this afternoon I’m flying out to the Philippines to end the year there and begin 2016 in another new country.

Five separate holidays.

If that’s what I can achieve whilst I’m still working my corporate job where I need permission to go away…

Imagine what’s possible with my new online venture when I’m no longer answering to a boss.

This year has been a rollercoaster. I’ve done things I never dreamed were possible, and this is just the beginning of things to come.

Beginning and ending the year in different countries proves just how important travel is in my life. I’m so happy I’ve found a way to permanently incorporate this, and I’m so excited for what 2016 has in store for me.

I wanted to share this before I head off on my final adventure for the year. It’s a short montage I put together of my travels this year. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope me sharing this inspires you to chase your own dreams.

Whatever you may not have been ready for this year, make it happen in 2016. Make new years resolutions that are meaningful and suit your purpose. The more important they are to you, the more chance you have of actually achieving them.

So how do you go about making new years resolutions you can stick to?

Simple, remember my post on ‘finding your why’?  Well the same rule can be applied to making your resolutions. After all, these are your goals for the year. You need to make them specific to you and don’t go for broad open-ended points just to tick off a list. Drill down to the nitty gritty of what you actually need to do to reach your ultimate goals and how you are going to do these. If you do this, I guarantee you will have a list of resolutions you’ll force yourself to achieve no matter what it takes.

Now I better get packing. I’ll be sure to share my Philippines adventures with you as much as I can. 🙂

Have a safe and happy new year.

Much Love

Jade xo
