Define Normal…
Here’s a few definitions of the word normal.
adjective
Conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.
‘it’s quite normal for puppies to bolt their food.’
‘normal working hours’
TOP DEFINITION:
A word made up by this corrupt society so they could single out and attach those who are different.
Normal is nothing but a made up word by society.
OTHER DEFINITIONS:
1. An idealistic state of being that remains as such. Because the idea of such a state varies from being to being and any set standard is nonetheless someone elses idea of what it is this condition warrants satisfactory confirmation of being amongst the confirmed members of such class, by the individuals code.
2. Normal is about as concrete as the idea of ‘love’. The meaning is constantly evolved to suit the momentary desires and/or needs of a single person, or group of people.
3. A tool of conformity.
Why am I asking you this?
A few days ago I read the below quote and I still haven’t gotten it off my mind.
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for – in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.”
It doesn’t surprise me that the Urban dictionary definitions are very cynical. How can anything be defined as normal? Just because one person believes something should be a certain way, it doesn’t make it right or the only way.
This quote really got to me because of how true it is for most people in society today. We are taught to believe that normal means working our lives away to buy material things. From such a young age it’s ingrained in us that the ‘normal’ progression from childhood to adulthood is to go to school then either get a job straight away or study with the same end goal of getting a job.
All around me I was seeing people taking action and defying this ‘normal’ to the point where I was feeling jealous and upset all the time. How come so many people can travel the world and just post photos on instagram and not have to work while I”m stuck in a job I no longer love.
I finally realised I had two choices, I could continue to sit and complain and make excuses for why I’m stuck in a job I don’t like, or I could take action and get something out of my life.
I decided to go with option two. Now I’m finally getting closer to living my dream life and I could not be more excited. This is my new normal and it could be yours too. If you’re ready to take a risk and make a change click here and get in touch with me. I’d love to show you how.
Much Love,
