A different kind of road trip.

On Sunday I took a little, unplanned road trip down south for an overnight stay.

My boyfriend phoned me that morning and asked me to go down as he’s been working away all week.

I was tired and feeling a little worse for wear after the previous night’s Oktoberfest festivities. Immediately I started thinking about what a bad idea it was.

I’m also not the biggest fan of driving and the thought of a two hour drive, alone and tired, did scare me.

In that crossroads moment I had the choice to sit and do nothing like I’ve done so much in the past, or to take hold of opportunity and seize the moment.

Since I’m changing my life and taking steps to becoming a lion, I decided to go with option two.

Turns out there’s something really calming about a good road trip by yourself.

I’ve driven down south loads of times, but I’ve always had others in the car with me.

Those trips have been super fun, but you don’t really get a chance to truly be in the moment because there’s so much going on.

This particular road trip was only a two hour drive out of the city, but as soon as I got off the freeway and onto that country road I felt free. It was such an exhilarating moment for me.

No other cars in sight, music blaring (I could listen to whatever I wanted), beautiful scenery, windows down, and hair flying in the breeze.

I was instantly recovered from my hangover.

Being alone gave me lots of time to contemplate where I’m going – not just the destination at the end of that road – but in life.

These are the moments I live for. I want more of the care free, spur of the moment adventures.

This is living. This is me. This is why I’ve made the decision to do what I’m doing and this journey is going to be

INCREDIBLE. I’m so excited for the ride ahead and you should be too.

Much Love
